You're at the entry level of the Miser
Project web site,
http://miser-theory.info.
This top level of site content is referred to as the front porch
of the site. All public content is reachable by entry through the front porch,
whether by browser navigation through links or by use of a URL that specifies a
path deeper into the site.
This Construction Structure is the scaffolding on which the useful content and other web resources are organized. This is the structure at the front-porch level:
1. Construction Structure
2. Front-Porch Materials
3. Site Infrastructure
4. Content Sections
During early development, navigation to content may be primarily via the construction structure. Later, more-polished organizations will be overlaid. The scaffolding never goes away, although it fades into the background.
The fundamental skeletal links are the
index.htmpages at the front-porch and in each subordinate folder. All reachable folders of the site have anindex.htmpage that represents the folders place in the overall structure. This becomes the default page for the site or the subfolder in the absence of an over-riding page, such as adefault.htmpage.
- index.htm
- is this construction-structure page. It is also the default home page in the absence of a default.htm. The "anchor block" in the upper right corner of the page provides links to each folder on the path from the current folder back to the front porch (
miser>location here). The "Hard Hat Area" logo in the lower left corner of links to the nearest Construction Zone at the same or higher level.
- construction.htm
- is the Construction Zone page at the front porch. It is the top-level construction zone of the entire site. Additional construction materials of the site can be accessed from that page.
c000000.htm- is the Construction Zone Diary & Job Jar page for the front-porch construction zone. This page provides a tabulation of work items and other notes that apply in the development and maintenance of the front porch for the site.
default.firedrill.htm- is a special page that can be overlaid on the
default.htmentrance page (or any other page) when the site is being locked down as part of an incidence-response test. Any page that can be replaced by a firedrill, quarantine, or standby page must have a means for being restored.
default.quarantine.htm- is a special page that can be overlaid on the
default.htmentrance page, or any other page, to hold the place of a page that has been damaged or to block off other corrupted materials.
default.standby.htm- is a special page that can be overlaid on the default.htm entrance page, or any other page, to hold the place of a page that has been damaged or to block off other corrupted material until it can be recovered or repaired.
The front porch has some top-level pages that anchor the construction structure and provide an entrance for navigation into the site.
default.htmis the polished, professional-appearance entrance to the site. When present, it is the home page. It has enough provisional content so the site can be found and preliminary materials examined. The "Hard Hat Area" logo in the lower-left corner of the page provides a link to the construction structure.
ODMdev.htm is a summary of the nature and purpose of the ODMdev site. It serves as a classier "about" page than this index.htm. It may be linked from default.asp.
This web page is part of the engineering, construction management, maintenance, and infrastructure of the Miser Project web. You are welcome to explore this and other construction-information pages. You'll need your hard hat and safety shoes.
If you'd rather find out about Miser than admire the scaffolding, materials, and construction equipment on the site, go directly to the Miser Project entrance section. If that doesn't work, return later. Project content is blocked off whenever the construction crew is blasting in the area.
