| 2013-11-30 | Check whether a custom 404 can be produced for the notes folder and below that provides a notes-specific message. [dh:2014-03-30 This appears necessary only to deal with case sensitivity of previously case-insensitive cross-references and links. It may not be necessary.] | ||
| 2007-04-30 | Cross reference the construction structure index pages to both the Notes and the Astraendo catalogs, possibly others in the future. | ||
| 2007-04-29 | There may need to be cross-posting between astraendo/ and notes/ in those cases where the subject is a cross-over. I am not sure what the "code-sharing" is exactly. Maybe there is some sort of include-page material, and a local alias to avoid duplications in the different lists. So the material shows up in both catalogs, but it resides in just one place for maintenance purposes. [dh:2007-04-29 We will practice this for both Notes and Astraendo.] | ||

2013-11-25 | n001100: Using the model for n001000, create 2000/11/n001100 folio and tombstoning of notes/n001100.

2013-11-25 | n001000: Create 2000/10/n001000 folio and figure out where the notes/n001000 should be placed and renamed. The first thought is as n001000b. The notes/n00100 tombstone should refer to n001000b. Then copy n001000b to n001000c and switch the include-page arrangement. The rest can be handled at n001000a. [dh:2014-03-22 I am making these pages n00xxyy pages into both n00xxyy and n00xxyyc, with the originals linking to the corresponding folio cover. This is the systematic treatment for all of them.]

2013-11-25 | Work renaming from Nyymmnnx to nyymmnnx in a way that doee not orphan incoming links to N* filenames. Fragment identifiers can't be fixed though. Whether or not this is solved, the consistent renaming is going to be done. So there will be breaking changes for some period of time.

notes: normalize the top level by renaming all N*.htm
files to n*.htm form. This is accomplished in the following
steps: 1. Branch all of the N*.htm in the mirror project. 2. Rename them in the mirror project. 3. Delete the N*.htm in the Compagno project. 4. Share the n*.htm back from the mirror project. 5. Recover the Include Pages cases for those that are so maintained in the Compagno project. (There does not seem to be any problem but for inclusions that had N*.htm names in them.) 6. Delete the notes/-level files in the publicca image. 7. GetLatest of the notes folder into the publicca image. The top notes/ level should now have only n*.htm forms. 8. Delete the notes/-level files in the hosted site notes/ folder. 9. Synchronize the mirror folders to the hosted site. When that is done, the next thing is to straighten out n020600 before anything else. All subsequent work happens inside of a fully-repaved structure. |

2013-11-26 | Investigate mod-rewrite and other functions that can be used at the .htaccess level to deal with the N* vs n* business. Here is when not to use mod-rewrite. Rewrite rule flags are also important. The [R=permanent,L] case may be valuable for getting the rules to change. This will require that all of the files be changed to have n* form before the redirection approach is used. It looks like we want a rule like ^N(.*)$ n$1 but we need to deal with the file location at each level. [dh:2013-11-29 That's confirmed]

2013-11-26 | The files in VSS are mis-named even though I can correct the names in FrontPage. But this preserved the wrong case sensitivity in the files themselves. I know there's a way to fix this in VSS, but it escapes me at the moment. The problem is that VSS thinks renaming is to an existing file name. I must figure out how I dealt with this before. [dh:2013-11-29 If I branch the shared folders I can then rename them. Then share back. The publicca and server files need to be redone also.

2013-11-26 | n010205: Complete repaving and deal with Nyymmnnx and nyymmnnx differences. The repaving of that and other branches is not complete until this is resolved. It looks like the repaving will be done first, then the rewrite will be put in. Otherwise, there are too many rewrites that go wrong? Yes, that's the ticket.
